My Norwex Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls review:
First… let me give you some info on dryer sheets. These are things I never even knew before
Norwex came into my life:
- Although they make your clothes feel soft and smell “fresh,” fabric softeners and dryer sheets are some of the most toxic products around. They add toxic chemicals to your laundry and, consequently, your body. Plus, it can take YEARS for a dryer sheet to break down in landfills.
- According to Scientific American, some of the
most harmful ingredients in dryer sheets and liquid fabric softeners alike
include benzyl acetate (linked to pancreatic cancer), benzyl alcohol (an
upper respiratory tract irritant), ethanol (linked to central nervous
system disorders) and chloroform (a neurotoxin and carcinogen), among
others. Since fabric softeners are designed to stay in your clothes for
extended periods of time, such chemicals can seep out gradually and be
inhaled or absorbed directly through the skin.

Not
good! Now, I had already made up my mind
I wanted the F&TDBs before the above
was brought to my attention. Because
less drying time is always good.
I
was not disappointed. They work. Even on loads that always have the most
static, like socks. And king sized flannel sheets. I do have to say that on
those rare days when the temperature drops REALLY low, and the air is super
dry, I still get some static.
Added
bonus is that sheets ball up less. Ever
thought your sheets were dry, then you “unball them” and realize the “inside of
the ball” is still wet? Not with
these!
Afraid
you will miss your favorite scents? You
can put drops of essential oils on the ball.
I like to add Lavender to sheets.
You can also find just about any scent oil you want on amazon.com. You can also mix and match them.
I
am enjoying less dry time (read: laundry done faster), less energy usage from
the dryer not running as much, and I do not miss dryer sheets or fabric
softeners.

How to Use
- Simply toss the dryer balls in your dryer and start. No need to remove them from the dryer, just reuse!
- Try them with a drop or two of pure essential oil for heavenly scented laundry. After the laundry is completely dried, take out 2 of the Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls and apply desired amount of pure essential oil to each ball. Toss the 2 back into the dryer with the other one and run on Air Fluff (no heat), so the delicate oil is not damaged, for 10 minutes. Your laundry will smell heavenly, and the scent will linger for several days!
